On December 6-7, 2023, Osh State University hosted a seminar “Development of financial autonomy of universities in Kyrgyzstan” of the DEFA project under the Erasmus+ program, which was held in a hybrid offline-online format.

The purpose of the seminar is to explore the prospects for improving the financial and economic independence of universities in Kyrgyzstan. The project's partner participants discussed strategies for the development of financial autonomy of universities and a roadmap for the implementation of a model of financial autonomy of universities in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Participants reviewed the mechanisms for staff selection and staff formation based on the OVGU experience, listened to reports from partner universities, summarized the activities of the DEFA project for the first year and drew up a plan for further actions. The project consortium included 12 universities in Kyrgyzstan, two international educational institutions in Germany, Italy and an Italian public organization.
